Beaches

The nearest beach is Arrifana, easily within walking distance. Or you may use one of our two bicycles, if you can manage the steep hills. The beaches of Monte Clerigo and Amoreira are not far away. And all three are have life guards in the summer, Ideal for children and with the blue flag of excellence. To get to the dune beaches of Bordeira and Carrapateira, you will need a car.

The secret beach is however the Praia de Figueras beyond Arrifana:
This beach is not just occasionally but almost always nearly deserted, even in summertime. You can follow the dirt road up to the end and descend to the “private “shingle beach at the foot of the cliffs.
