A trip to the nearby Monchique Mountains is a must: In clear weather you can see the entire Algarve from an altitude of one thousand meters. The spring waters of Monchique have well-being attributes. At the foot of Monchique is the Arab fortress Silves. Trips in a northerly direction are well worthwhile to the picturesque Odeceixe or the small town of Milflores.

You should not miss Lagos: Stroll in the old part of town or along the Marina with their shops and street cafes, simply typical for a vacation. Visit also the south westernmost tip of the European mainland: Sagres with the fortress of Henry the Navigator and the powerful lighthouse. If you have plenty of time, make a visit of the old part of Faro and the shell-scattered sand banks of Tavira.

With a surfing school in Arrifana, riding possibilities (Yvonne Langer offers the best). Bathing beaches or simply beautiful walks through unspoiled landscapes and many birds in the protected area of the Costa Vincentina along the cliff coast but do not go too close to the edge - the environment around Casa de Peregrino offers many of activities for you.
